The Story

Tim Smith founded The Financial Dad together with his family in 2022. After a 35+ year career in financial services, leading hundreds of advisors across the USA in a firm overseeing billions of dollars in assets under management, he decided to take his extensive career knowledge and bring it to the people who need it most—the future generations.

Together with his two daughters, Hally and Bridget—they created a comprehensive program for schools, colleges and credit unions to utilize as an addendum to their standard curriculum and member benefits.

The most important part?

The Financial Dad created learning material that young adults will actually enjoy.

We teach people the way they desire to learn today: through relatable interviews, videos and the

answers to the financial questions we are all asking (like hello, what is a 401k?!)

What sets our curriculum and courses apart?

  • We use a conversational, interview approach, where a young person asks questions and learns from an experienced expert, rather than a dull, boring lecture approach.

  • We provide only education, not advice.

How do we know they will enjoy it?

Because we asked. 75% of young people said they would prefer to learn this way rather than by lectures or online reading and testing.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

The Financial Dad turns what you would think are incredibly complicated concepts into feasible tasks. I never thought anything tax-related would be simple, but they break it down to the point where even if it’s your first time hearing the words, you can really understand the topics.

As someone who is nearing my first full-time job search and my first experience of financial independence, The Financial Dad provides easy-to-learn information on vital concepts for this crucial time in my life.
